Bumps

I am almost 19 weeks, almost 1/2 way to d-day. Since I this is the first pregnancy I have gotten this far, I have to say there are some unexpected sensations that I have experienced. I now have a firm bowling ball sized lump in my lower belly. I don't know why, but I never thought that the bump would be so firm. I used to be morbidly obese with a huge belly that was large and squishy. I just assumed that the belly would be just like that. It's totally not. I can feel the weight tugging and pulling down. I have lost my balance a few times already too. Clumsy me.

I also have now felt the baby kick. I have felt if for the last week. It's a great feeling. It's not regular, but it's there. Tiny little bumps. I can only feel them on the outside, not on the inside. I can even feel them by hand if I keep my hand on my belly. I didn't think that was possible until much much later.

So far, DH and I have done NOTHING to get ready for the baby. We didn't want to do anything in the first trimester, and then there was the holidays, and now here we are. Half way through the pregnancy with not a stitch done! YIKES! We have so much to do. We have to get a contractor to change 3 walls in our house. The baby's room needs to have one wall sound proofed. That wall shares with the master bathroom's shower and toilet. Every time you shower or flush, you can hear it plain as day in the baby's room. I don't want to wake a sleeping baby every time I have to pee in the middle of the night. We need to also sound proof another room that will now become the new guest room. It shares the wall with our master bedroom where the TV is. Downstairs, we need to also expand our pantry. Right now it's super tiny and jammed full. We are going to knock out the built in kitchen desk to make a bigger pantry. I have no idea how long any of this will take. I am hoping no more than 5 weeks once I find someone to do it. The key words being, once I find someone to do it. Then we can start to buy things like crib, changing tables, and rocking chairs. The list of to-dos is huge and we need to get our butts in gear!!! I am such a procrastinator.
